Payment Orchestration
Payment orchestration sits between your checkout and your processors. It decides where each transaction goes, what happens when it is declined, and how the result is reported, so you can change providers without rebuilding your integration.
What orchestration does
An orchestration layer chooses a processor or acquirer for each payment using rules, costs and approval history, then records the outcome in one place.
Routing and failover
If a payment is declined or a provider is down, routing rules can send it to another processor. Set the rules by market, card type or amount.
Cascading retries
Retry logic can resubmit soft declines through a different route, with limits on attempts and timing to avoid repeated charges.
Multi-processor reporting
One reporting view across processors makes it easier to compare approval rates, fees and disputes, and to spot a provider that is underperforming.
