Everpay gives online merchants hosted checkout, payment links, subscriptions and multi-acquirer routing in one platform.
Most abandonment at payment comes from friction, surprise or distrust rather than a lack of intent. Common causes include long forms, forced account creation, unexpected shipping or tax costs, prices shown in a currency the shopper does not use, and a missing payment method. On mobile, typing a sixteen-digit card number is one of the slowest steps in the whole journey.
Fixing this is mostly a checkout design problem. Hosted checkout and wallets reduce typing, saved cards help returning customers, and clear error messages let a shopper correct a mistake instead of leaving. If a card is declined, offering a second method on the same screen keeps the sale alive. Test changes one at a time so you can tell which one helped.
Card preferences vary by country. In some markets shoppers favor bank transfers, direct debits, wallets or pay-later options over cards, and a checkout that only takes cards can look incomplete to them. Adding the leading method for each market you actually sell in usually matters more than adding every method everywhere.
Local currency pricing and local acquiring can also change outcomes, because issuers often treat domestic transactions more favorably than cross-border ones. Results depend on the market, the issuer and your business model, so measure approvals by country before and after you make changes. Our guides on accepting payments internationally and the benefits of global payment methods cover how to choose markets and methods. The payments page lists what Everpay supports.
Fraud controls and approval rates pull against each other. Rules that are too strict reject good customers, while rules that are too loose invite chargebacks. The practical approach is layered: tokenized capture, address and security code checks, risk scoring, and 3D Secure applied only when risk justifies the extra step. Reviewing blocked orders regularly shows whether your thresholds are costing you legitimate sales.
Declines deserve the same attention. Not every decline is final, and a soft decline can sometimes succeed when retried or sent through a different acquirer. Everpay's multi-acquirer routing and cascading retries are built for that, and our guide on improving approval rates explains the other levers. For disputes, clear billing descriptors, order records and delivery proof make evidence easier to submit. See fraud prevention for the tools involved.
Start with your own data: monthly volume, average order value, countries, current decline reasons and dispute history. Then compare providers on total cost rather than headline rate, supported methods in your markets, routing flexibility, settlement timing, reserve policies and whether your product category is supported.
Ask how the platform connects to your cart, subscription tool and accounting software, and whether you can test in a sandbox before committing. Our buyer's guide has a full checklist, and pricing explains how Everpay charges. Approval, eligibility and pricing for any merchant depend on underwriting.
Wallets, saved cards, local methods and a short checkout form lift conversion. Offering the right method per market matters more than adding every method.
Smart retries and cascading to a backup acquirer recover sales that a single processor would lose. Read how to improve payment approval rates.
Risk scoring and risk-based 3D Secure stop fraud without blocking good customers. See fraud prevention.
